Community Workshop Facilitated by CAMILA SALCEDO AND KARINA ROMAN

Collaborative Sound
(Sonic Textiles)

SATURDAY DECEMBER 16, 2023 at 2 - 4 PM
TEXTILE Museum OF CANADA

A workshop inspired by Paola Torres Nuñez del Prado’s artwork titled, Sonic Waraca. In this 2-hour workshop, participants will explore the Textile Museum’s education collection of global textiles to create a collaborative sound piece using computerized audio interfaces.

Through doing so, participants will activate the collection through sensory means of touch and sound. Participants will be guided through sound meditation, learn about the cultural significance of some of the collection items, begin to identify textile techniques and get to experiment collaboratively.
